February EDITION 2023:

The development of clean hydrogen is viewed as a step toward lowering the carbon impact of the CO2-intensive hydrogen generation of today.
The huge potential of Africa to hasten the advancement of green hydrogen. However, it is thought that producing green hydrogen by electrolysis using renewable energy is the most efficient way to halt climate change.

Africa is positioned as a significant potential destination for the production and export of green and blue hydrogen due to the abundance of energy resources that are available in several regions of the continent. Africa needs outside investment, primarily from Europe, to fully utilize all of its resources.

The hydrogen economy in Africa has sparked political discussion with a number of European nations about the potential for exporting green hydrogen.
However, despite its enormous potential, Africa is struggling to find workers who can help it in its quest to produce hydrogen. Many jobs, according to CHIETA – The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority, require different training and education than are now required for employment.
Assessing the training needs is the CHIETA’s job to ensure that the demand from this quickly expanding sector of the economy is adequately satisfied.
The enormous investment in skill development and the support of the international community in the region are key elements that will enable Africa to play a prominent role in the development of hydrogen.
